Will an amethyst really help that hangover?<\/h2>\n

Drinking plenty of water or Gatorade, eating macaroni cheese pizza, and having a banana milkshake are just a couple of the different ways a person can supposedly cure a hangover. However, the ancient Greeks and Romans believed that what they really needed was the protection of an amethyst gemstone<\/a> to keep them from feeling ill the next day.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmethyst<\/a>\u201d is actually a Greek word which means, \u201cnot drunk\u201d and its origin comes from the Greek mythological tale<\/a> that Dionysus (the god of wine and intoxication) was refused by a virgin, Amethystos, and became angered by Amethystos\u2019 rejection. Dionysus attacked Amethystos but Artemis protected her by turning her into white stone. As an offer of apology, Dionysus poured wine over the stone and it turned colors from white<\/a> to purple <\/a>to create the Amethyst gemstone. Thus, it was believed that the gemstone could protect a person from drinking too much.<\/p>\n

Besides headache cures, mystical properties have been supposed to include help healing the rest of the central nervous system for mental illnesses, anxiety, concussions, and depression. If you suffer from insomnia or have a very poor memory, it\u2019s suggested to keep the stone close to you while you sleep in order to ensure a peaceful night. This purple gemstone is also supposed to help bring you a sense of peace<\/a> and calm you down if you feel any type of stress at all. Because of this, it\u2019s perfect for use during Chaka or mediation if a person holds the stone close to their head during the relaxation session. If a person is ill, the amulet is supposed to let them know just how sick they are by becoming pale in color.<\/p>\n

Regardless of whether or not you believe that the amethyst<\/a> gemstone can help heal your headache or other health ailments, it\u2019s still a very beautiful stone to keep and wear.<\/p>\n

Red gemstones: amber, garnet, and ruby<\/h3>\n

Red gemstones such as amber<\/a> and garnet<\/a> are supposed to help aid the blood and heart. More specifically, amber can help with headaches and memory loss in the same way as amethys. Ruby<\/a> and garnet help generate emotions of happiness, intimacy, and loyalty.<\/p>\n

Blue and green gemstones: lapis, peridot, and turquoise<\/h3>\n

These three gemstones can help create feelings of relaxation and focus. Lapis is supposed to help a person feel happier and become more open in close relationships, while peridot<\/a> helps heal stressed relationships and reduce feelings of anger.<\/p>\n
