You might have seen the hilarious Peter Sellers series of movies from the 1960's, all revolving around a bumbling policeman's attempts to catch a master jewel thief who is after a luminous pink diamond known as The Pink Panther. The jewel in question was of course a work of fiction, and yet gorgeous pink diamonds exist and have been made into some truly stunning pieces of jewelry.
A big pink diamond might be more than most of us can afford, and yet there's no reason why you can't incorporate this beautiful color into your collection, and this is easily achieved with a pair of stunning pink earrings. Pink earrings are usually constructed around a pink gemstone, and pink opals are a popular choice, as is a pink topaz. There are of course many others to choose from, and quartz is available in a mesmerizing shade of pink that borders on rose.
Pink is seen as the color of nurturing and love, which is why pink is often associated with the birth of a baby girl. While pink is a combination of red and white, the shade and vibrancy of the pink can vary greatly depending on the prevalence of the primary color, and so of course you can find pink earrings in every shade of the color that you can imagine.
Pink also has connotations of femininity, and when that connotation is combined with the ideas of love and nurturing, it can mean that a pair of lovely pink earrings are an ideal gift for your mother or grandmother. While you might not want to wear The Pink Panther on your ears, there's no reason why pink earrings can't be a wonderful addition to your jewelry box- something of such subtle beauty that makes them perfect for everyday wear.
