Larimar Bracelets
The History of Larimar
Records in the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Mining show that Father Miguel Domingo Fuertes Loren of Barahone Parish in the Dominican Republic asked for permission to explore and mine the blue rock which he had discovered. Since pectolites were still unknown in the Dominican Republic in this time, the request was rejected.
Despite the fact that larimar was only rediscovered in 1974 the designs and styles available in larimar bracelets are truly inspirational.
Larimar Bracelet Designs
There are a wide range of bracelet designs available. Amulet style bracelets consist of a single stone mounted on a sterling silver setting. This may consider of an ornate rigid band with a design reminiscent of the Middle Ages or a comparatively simple design featuring a plain band. Whilst the more ornate design acts as an embellishment the simplicity of the plain band allows the beauty of the stone to shine.
Other styles of larimar bracelet include of beads with a combination of silver and gold. This style is universally popular and ideal for a party or festive occasion.
Whatever your style the bespoke designs of the larimar bracelets are designed to add that little bit of sparkle to your outfit and are sure to be the talking point.
Caring for your Larimar Bracelet
As larimar is a gemstone it is extremely durable if you avoid certain activities. Don't wear your bracelet if you are using a swimming pool as the chlorine can be very damaging to the stone. Also avoid wearing it whilst swimming in the sea.
It is advisable to keep your bracelet away from household chemicals such as washing-up liquid and cleaning products. Also try not to spray it with perfume or deodorant. If you get a little body cream on it simply wipe it off with a soft cloth.
Be wary about wearing your bracelet in hot weather or extreme sunlight as both can affect the color properties of the bracelet. Other than that, wiping your bracelet with a soft cloth on a daily basis will allow it to exude radiance every time you wear it.
From the plethora of larimar bracelet designs available the only difficulty will be choosing which one you would like to own. But of course, there is no limit on how many you can have so perhaps you might like to treat yourself to a couple! You are sure to receive compliments when you wear it (or them!).
