Mystic topaz starts as natural white topaz, a silicate mineral with a Mohs hardness of 8. The coating process, developed in the 1990s, applies a microscopically thin layer of titanium oxide through vapor deposition. This creates the signature color-play without altering the stone's structure or durability. Each piece shows a different color depending on viewing angle and light source. Our sterling silver earring settings use .925 silver, meaning 92.5% pure silver alloyed with copper for strength. This composition holds up to regular wear while maintaining the bright finish that complements mystic topaz's shifting hues.
